Laser ,Types and Use

LASER :-                    LASER is an acronym of  Light Amplification by stimulated emission of Radiation. It is an optical device which produces an intensive beam of highly coherent, Monochromatic light[ Electromagnetic radiation, especially visible radiation, of only one frequency or wavelength]. It can travel over great distance without spread.   LASER LIGHT :-                                   1. It is very different than normal light and contains only one specific wavelength of light.                                 2. A laser light has very tight beam and is very strong and concentrated.                                 3. A laser light can go to the moon and th...

Impulse and its use in Daily life

What is the Impulse?
                                  - If a larger force is acting on a body for a very short time, then this force and time are together known as Impulse and large force itself is called impulsive force.
Impulse = change in momentum = Force ✖ Time

Note- if we increase the time of impact then the force of impact will be less.

Applications in daily life-
                             1. In Catching of the ball - The players draw their hands back after catching the ball in the direction of the motion of the ball, so they can increase the time of impact which reduces the force of impact and catch the ball easily without hurting themselves.

2. Fragile things wrapped in papers or straw while packing-

                                                      - Chinaware or any fragile things wrapped in papers or straw while packing. In the event fall, the impact will take a longer time to reach glass/chinaware through paper or straw. Due to which force of impact is small and chances of the brake reduce.

- An athlete is advised to come to stop slowly after finishing a fast race, so that time to stop increases and hence force experienced by him decreases.

-Bogies of trains are provided with buffers-
The presence of buffer increases the time of impact so force during jerks decreases, hence chance of damage decreases.
