Laser ,Types and Use

LASER :-                    LASER is an acronym of  Light Amplification by stimulated emission of Radiation. It is an optical device which produces an intensive beam of highly coherent, Monochromatic light[ Electromagnetic radiation, especially visible radiation, of only one frequency or wavelength]. It can travel over great distance without spread.   LASER LIGHT :-                                   1. It is very different than normal light and contains only one specific wavelength of light.                                 2. A laser light has very tight beam and is very strong and concentrated.                                 3. A laser light can go to the moon and th...

Atmospheric Pressure and its Applications

Atmospheric Pressure-
The Gases surrounding earth is called atmosphere and the pressure exerted by these gases or atmosphere is called Atmospheric Pressure.
The pressure difference is the main application of atmospheric pressure. The air goes from high pressure to low pressure.

Applications--

1. Nose Bleeding at heights
At high altitudes, the atmospheric pressure is lesser. Due to the greater difference in blood pressure and atmospheric pressure, the blood vessels exposed inside the nose are more likely to burst and cause bleeding from the nose at heights.

2. Difficult to cook at heights
It is difficult to cook at heights as at high altitudes pressure decreases and hence the Boiling point decreases. When we cook the food in the water at high altitudes, water has already evaporated leaving food partially cook or still raw.

3. Drinking Straw
When sucked air inside straw is removed leaving a low-pressure area inside the straw and high pressure at the surface of the drink push the drink inside the straw.

4. Vacuum cleaner
It works on the principle of the flow of air from the area of high pressure to area of low pressure. An electric motor is attached to a fan that spins it at high velocities. The fast-spinning fan creates a region of low pressure inside the suction hose of the vacuum cleaner. This pressure difference inside and outside high pressure of the cleaner makes it to suck the dust inside.

Few are which works on same principle are
- An inflated balloon.
- Ears getting blocked due to change in pressure.
- Air pressure in tyres.
